EULEX Kosovo Mission Mandate
EU Mission in Kosovo aims to initially begin with 1.800 people and it aims to stay for 28 months. For the first 16 months a budget of €205 million is planned, while for the next 12 months, the budget aims to be lower and based upon the needs on the field. EULEX will have its main offices in Pristina and other regional offices throughout Kosovo.
The document also says that the decision for possible enlargement of the mission will be made after the evaluation which might take place 6 months after the mission begins. The mission will start the day it gets the approval and then the European Union will have 120 days to bring their people to Kosovo. During the EULEX mission, KFOR will also remain in Kosovo as part of security with 16.000 troops. Based on the newspaper’s diplomatic sources, EU has agreed for Peter Feith to remain as the EU Special Representative in Kosovo.

... hi there ,and wellcome to eulex,if you could only concentrate in mitrovica because the rest of kosova can cope without your help but with the help of kosova police .I hope everything will go back to normal and you have to be tough on serbs they may not like it but I think they should learn to respect other contries and just to remind them that mitrovica was never theirs and it will never be.I dont know if they remember just before the war it wasn't theirs and still its not.sorry thats the reality. |

But, if they come into Rep. of Kosovo but with the permission and agreement of Serbia, it is true that People of Kosova, especially Albanians are in deep shit, why?! because employment instead of rising it will reduse, will have more and more roumers, uncertain situations, riots, un-satisfied matters which occupies all Kosovars. |

... well, well, well,......It really all depends on what the EULEX people will do in Kosova. Will they do a great job like their ancestors, steel and corrupt the country, or will they really help the country. It is from my own experience, and my personal opinion, that they won't do anything here--besides being here couple of years helping the orginized crime and accumulate more profits for themselves and their bosses. Thanks to USA and their deep deep deep down felings about serbians and their brothers russians that we are here today. |

Comparing previous UN mission with EULEX I think that this mission is going to be more functional, efficient and helpfull for Republic of Kosovo 'cause the people who will come they are more professional and already have the succsesfull administration in respective countries therefore I expect lot of help to the Justice, security and customs as well. On one hand there are countries that recognize Kosovo as independent but on the level that such issues heve been resolved so far no one recognizes cosovo, and here i mean UN and EU in the whole. How are the countries that are not involved in the issue supposed to look at this now. UN still say Kosovo is part of Serbia and EU has no unified stand on it. How this issue is resolved will define how we look at the world of the future. There is a conflict here - and that should not be forgoten. The fact that Kosovo has friends and Serbia has its supporters only means that this issue needs to be further hamered out. No one wants to see new fighting down the road, but if the situation stays like this i see no other way out. Currently we have the way of power governing and i don"t know if that is a best way!
