Kosovo premier Hashim Thaçi

"I can only reconfirm that we have the support of about 100 world states willing to recognize Kosovo independence immediately after our declaration, and now we must work on the international recognition for the state of Kosovo. We will have a powerful, massive, and consolidated recognition," declared premier Thaçi.

He explained that Kosovo institutions are working together with UNMIK to build democratic order and multi ethnic perspective for Kosovo in order to open a safe prospect to the implementation of state-building processes in Kosovo.

Thaçi excluded the possibility that the internal crisis in Serbia will affect the independence developments in Kosovo. Whereas the UNMIK chief Ruecker, when discussing the Belgrade parallel structures in the Serb populated Mitrovica north, stated that, "we are ready to face" the challenges in the ensuing days and weeks. "When we say we, this has to do with the Kosovo institutions, Kosovo police, UNMIK police and KFOR. Parallel structures in Kosovo are not legal and in the case that we notice parallel security structures we will stop them," stated Ruecker.
