Hashim Thaçi confirms independence to be declared on Sunday

PRISHTINA, Kosovo - Prime Minister Hashim Thaci confirmed Saturday that Kosovo would declare its independence from Serbia on Sunday, the day when the "will of the citizens of Kosovo" would be implemented.

"Tomorrow will be a day of calm, of understanding, and of state engagements for the implementation of the will of the citizens of Kosovo," he told reporters after a meeting with religious leaders from around the province.

Expectations that independence would be declared on Sunday have running high, but Thaci's comments marked the first top-level confirmation that the long-awaited break with Serbia would take place on that day.

	Independence Yes feel so good to know that soon in about les than 24 hours we citizens of Kosovo will have our own country. Hashim Thaci thanks a lot for all work but don't forget all the heroes that helped Kosovo.
