Kosovo's independence is acceptable

As Macedonia our position regarding Kosovo's independence is clear. For us, the independence is acceptable and should be implemented on the basis of the Ahtisaari's plan, the Macedonian Defense Minister Lazar Elenovski said this in an interview with the Macedonian language service of "Deutsche Welle".

According to him, the declaration of Kosovo's independence is an act that was expected to take place for quite a while.

"It's something we have been supporting and we don't expect any security threats in that sense," Elenovski said.
