Protests at Kosovo border
Protests at Kosovo border
Hundreds of uniformed military reservists headed toward the border post in Merdare, which divides Kosovo and Serbia, to voice their discontent toward declaration of Kosovo’s independence.

Military reservists previously had a meeting in the Centre of Kursumlija, Serbia, from which aired the message that military ‘reservists and the citizens’ living in southern of Serbia will defend Kosovo by diplomatic and other means’.

Protest in Kursumlija, in which participated thousands of people, passed without incidents.

The Kosovo police were backed by Czech troops in riot gear who stood ready to drive back the demonstrators at the Gate 3 crossing, where burning tyres sent thick black smoke into the air.
