Belgrade violence reminiscent of Milosevic era
PRISTINA, Kosovo (AP)--Kosovo's prime minister says the violence that erupted in Belgrade is reminiscent of the era of Slobodan Milosevic.
Hashim Thaci told the AP Friday in his first post-independence interview the images of protesters storming the U.S. Embassy and other foreign offices "was terrible." Thaci says the violence harkens back to the 1998-99 war that Milosevic waged against ethnic Albanian separatists.

But Thaci was confident North Atlantic Treaty Organization peacekeeping force and Kosovo's recognition by the U.S. and European powers will ensure the nation's security.
