Head of EULEX mission to Kosovo Yves de Kermabon said that security is the main issue in Kosovo, adding that EULEX will be focusing on rule of law, police, justice and customs. He said the role of EULEX will differ from that of UNMIK even though the EU mission will also enjoy some executive powers.

“It may happen that there could be incapable, unprepared or even corrupt people in Kosovo institutions and we will have the authority to replace them,” de Kermabon said. “We will have our mission in the entire territory of Kosovo and of course we have to clarify this because our aim is to help everyone and for the mission to be for the good of all,” de Kermabon said further.
