Montenegrins went to polls Sunday
Citizens of Montenegro went to presidential polls on Sunday to elect their first president since the country ended its union with Serbia.

A little less than 500 thousand Montenegrin citizens eligible to vote went to the polls Sunday to decide on their new presidetial leader. Today's poll was seen as a test on the future course the country will follow in relation to its big neighbor, Serbia.

Montenegro split from Serbia two years ago following a peaceful referendum which ended the Serbia-Montenegro Union.

1/3 of the population of the country is ethnic Serb. According to statistics, incumbent Filip Vujanovic is expected to lead the results of the first round, shattering hopes of those who want to see an end to his 17-year rule.

Current Montenegrin leadership has stated that Montenegro will follow same policies as the Eropean Union with regards to Kosovo.
