Minister of Economy and Finance Ahmet Shala said that Kosovo will become member of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank in six months time.

He has also called useless Serbia's attempts to block Kosovo's membership in these two institutions. "Serbia cannot have any influence in these institutions, since Kosovo's independence is recognized by the majority of states on which membership depends" said Shala.

Director of the Institute for Developmental Research, Muhamet Mustafa, says that Kosovo's way towards membership in these two financial institutions is open. Over 60 percent of votes from the countries that have accepted Kosovo's independence have already been secured, he went on to say.

Serbia's Deputy Prime Minister Bozidar Djelic, stated a few days ago that Serbia is trying to block Kosovo's entry in the two international financial bodies.
