![]() Nauru recognizes Kosovo "Permanent Mission of the Republic of Nauru has the pleasure to notify the Government of Kosovo in regards to the Nauru Government decision to fully recognize Republic of Kosovo as an independent state. Moreover, the Government of Nauru accepts the proposal for the establishment of full diplomatic relations and a diplomatic mission, based on the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations," reads the note sent by the Nauru Permanent Mission at the United Nations to the Kosovo President Fatmir Sejdiu. Sixty-six days after independence the Republic of Kosovo has been formally recognized by 38 UN member countries, which account for 70% of the global GDP and 20 of the world's 28 full democracies.
