US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has stated that Serbia and Kosovo are two separate states, adding that the US expects to have good relations with both countries.

“Kosovo’s independence is a fact many have recognized. We will try to make sure that the country succeeds, both through mobilization of resources and donors, but it must be understood that nothing can be done to reverse the situation that developed when Kosovo declared independence,” Rice said after the meeting of the Middle East ‘Quartet’ on May 2 in London.
