The Parliament of the Republic of Lithuania has decided today to officially recognize Republic of Kosovo and has advised the Lithuanian government to start the procedure for the establishment of full diplomatic relations with Kosovo.

Lithuania was one of the first countries to initiate the recognition process for independent Kosovo however internal politics in the country delayed the conclusion of this process. Lithuania is a full member of NATO and the EU.
