The Commander of Allied Joint Forces Command in Naples, Admiral Mark Fitzgerald said on Thursday in Pristina that the discussions for establishing the Kosovo Security Forces are being held with added intensification by the political factors.

“What is being discussed is which states [will conduct the training] and how the transition is going to happen. Ahtisaari’s plan says that KPC has to cease with honour and within some time the Kosovo Security Forces have to be established and include members from all the communities. In order to do this there has to be someone that leads the transition and there has to be funds to do this.

These are decisions that have to be made at the political level, and therefore I can not say who those actors will be, but I can tell you that it is being discussed actively and it will happen,” Fitzgerald is quoted as saying.
