Uncertainties about UNMIK-ICO-EULEX
Close diplomatic sources of the third meeting of the International Steering Group, which was held on May 22 in Pristina, told Zëri that all member states of the International Steering Group are hesitating on what they have to do further about Kosovo.

According to the sources, much should be explained in the coming weeks by Ban Ki-moon’s office, which has to take the final decision about UNMIK’s reconfiguration, so that official Moscow is not against him.

Under the headline EU and UN have no answer about the EULEX mission, Zëri cites news agency Beta as reporting that for now there is still no decision taken about UNMIK’s withdrawal and that the deployment of the EULEX mission will be delayed. According to the news agency Beta, “such a situation could be very complicated and dangerous and include a radicalization” because of dissatisfaction from the Albanian Side, which is requesting UNMIK to leave, as well as from the Serbian side, which does not recognize Kosovo institutions, but only resolution 1244, UNMIK and KFOR.
