Citing a report published by the International Institute for Middle-East and Balkan Studies (IFIMES) based in Ljubljana, the paper reports that Macedonia will recognise independence of Kosovo right after it holds its elections on 1 June, while the Montenegrin daily Dan wrote that 16 June is increasingly being mentioned as a possible date when Montenegro could decide to recognise Kosovo as an independent state.

Macedonia has DENIED reports about deadlines for its recognition of Kosovo’s unilateral secession,
"There is no deadline" Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski said.

Grueski admitted, however, that the two main ethnic Albanian parties in the country are pressing him for Kosovo to be recognised as soon as possible.

Ethnic Albanian parties in Macedonia, Gruevski's ruling partner, the Democratic Party of Albanians, DPA, and the opposition Democratic Union for Integration - whose supporters were involved in deadly inter-Albanian clashes on elections day last Sunday -are strongly linked with the ethnic Albanian authorities in Pristina.

The Montenegrin leadership has shown in the past ten years that successful thugs, if they are wise enough, can indeed become respectable statesmen.
The Macedonian governmenent, which has recently suffered injustice at the hands of Greek pseudo-nationalists, shows that genuine patriots respect the equal rights of other nations, be they neighbouring states or fellow citizens. May it not ask for recognition, or even reciprocity, on the part of NATO and EU countries ?

i am just very excited about all of the recognitions, today with liberia, and the upcoming ones (we hope) from macedonia, montenegro and many of the islamic states. it is interesting, in one way, that they were not among the first to recognize, as it surely would have served as even more ammo for the S nationalists about the new "islamic republic." but they always find reasons to send out hate to "their" albanians... can you imagine any kosavar albanians saying: oh, yes, we'd be happy with "more than autonomy, less than independence"?! i thought i was going to scream if i had to hear that phrase one more time.

i like this NEW kosova report, but i was hoping it would have a stronger readership, by now. perhaps it will take time. honestly, i am a refugee from B92, which has recently become such a mouthpiece for the S nationalists, and believe me, i am not exaggerating. the more outrageous the ethnic slur, the quicker it gets in print, and the more it is recommended. and when i complain about all of the hate speech, i am abruptly censored. so sad. but this has been some time in the coming, and perhaps i am too naive or just a cockeyed optimist.

i just CANNOT understand what has happened to "progressive" serb voices like veran matic and zeljko kopanya. perhaps someone could enlighten me, for which i would be deeply appreciative!

Tanja, lay off the emotional rollercoaster babe.

Remember when your kind was grasping at straws, hoping and praying Canada won't recognize?

We saw how that one went! smilies/cheesy.gif

And how about the Czech Republic?

Hehehehe.

Every week we hear some new B.S and propaganda from this fascist site!
According to the "New Kosovar Report" Macedonia was supposed to recognize Kosovo months ago.
You are all just rats on a sinking ship. Grow up and stop grasping at straws.
Your independence is doomed to fail!
