Ban to offer partnership
According to anonymous sources, Ban is expected to send a letter to
Serbia’s President Boris Tadic to allow what the government of Serbia
has so far asked from UNMIK through its Minister for Kosovo Slobodan
Samardzic –partnership between the authorities in Serbia and UNMIK in
several fields within Kosovo.
A source quoted by the dailies also said that the compromise could create a situation in which Serbia would agree to the EULEX presence in Kosovo. The Samardzic plan is a six-point plan for co-governance in Kosovo, which the source described as functional division.

... Kosovo independence does not have ANY UN legitimacy or legality. It is a breach of UN resolution 1244 and the Helsinki Final Act. In other words, Kosovo independence is 100% Totally illegal!! All these basic documents absolutely guarantee Serbia's sovereignty and territorial integrity in its current, internationally recognized borders It does not matter what you do. It does not matter what you say or declare. It does not matter how many countries recognize you (even thou 162 do not!) As long as Serbia does not recognize you you will NEVER be independent! |

... Return Bosnian Serb Republic to Serbia? It was never theirs in the first place! They TOOK it through war and genocide. Just like they took Kosovo oh so long ago. If Serbia was pacified and stripped of arms, the Balkans would be such a better place. |

... what partion? Only 5% Serb...and 60% of them are scattered well inside Kosova. "Serbian leaders north of the Ibar River generally take their cue from the Serbian capital, but only about 40 percent of Kosovo's 5 percent Serbian minority lives in the north; the remaining 60 percent live in scattered enclaves. The "Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung" noted on May 28 that Serbs living in the enclaves reject independence for Kosovo but accept that they must carry out "pragmatic cooperation" with their ethnic-Albanian neighbors and the Kosovar authorities on the ground." http://www.rferl.org/featuresarticle/2008/05/0af62d5a-9934-4f78-85fb-eb446a5a4a7f.html a partition might mean Krajina for the rest of them |

... Serbian territorial pretensions on Kosova are inherently anti-democratic; how could appeasing them bolster the "democratic camp" in Serbia? One wonders where Ban was in February 1998, when Western governments started at last to understand that such appeasement doesn't work. |

... just partition already. It is time the Balkans had it's borders re-drawn! This is the only solution. |

... See, after de de facto partition on the ground comes the de jure partition on the ground. This 'solution' the US has tried to impose has failed completly and everuone who thinks that 15 june will change anything is completly dissillusional. |
