President Sejdiu
Kosovo President Fatmir Sejdiu has written to the head of the United Nations on the readiness of the Kosovo authorities to discuss issues that prevent destabilization.

In a response to Ban Ki-moon’s letter, President Sejdiu wrote that whatever plans the UN has for security, officials in Prishtina cannot be bypassed.

“We are open to your proposal to discuss possible practical arrangements to address the stability threats. We appreciate your commitment to consult closely with us, because such arrangements are not possible without the participation and the approval of the Kosovo Government,” wrote President Sejdiu in his letter.

Resolution 1244 was a restriction on the alleged "sovereignty" of the so-called "Federal Republic of Yugoslavia" because the latter had been deemed unworthy of exercising said alleged "sovereignty" over Kosovo.

It has no bearing on the right of any former colony to declare independence regardless of the wishes of its colonizer, which has been recognized time and again by the UN among other sources of "International law".

It will be interesting to see what kind of debate arises on the applicability of Resolution 1244 to an independent Kosovo, as one arose on the applicability of the September 1991 arms embargo to independent Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Sediju will become bitter and twisted when it dawns on him that the UN are not going away and that Resolution 1244 still has jurisdiction over him, regardless of any declared independance or constitution that cannot be recognised by the UN or the majority of countries that do not want to recognise Kosovo. That peoples, is the real reality.
