“EU aims the main role especially in the fields of rule of law. The decisions made in New York give us the possibility that in close cooperation with the United Nations to accelerate the deployments of the EU civilian mission in Kosovo and give it an important and active role,” Solana is quoted as saying.
The EU supports the report of the UN Secretary-General for the work the UN mission in Kosovo and his plan on UNMIK’s reconfiguration, European diplomats report. Also, spokesman for the U.S. State Department, Tom Casey, hailed the decision of the UN Secretary-General to start reconfiguration of UNMIK and said that the move is in accordance to the stand of the international community and will help development of local institutions. He also said the decision is a logical step after Kosovo declared independence.

| Spanish authorities say they will never recognize Kosovo as an independent country, because they are comparing Kosovo with Bask region. Let me confirm to the public opinion that Kosovo has nothing in common with this region. The whole world knows Spain hasn't sent there troops in order to commit genocide and massacres. Nevertheless, Spain has hinted till now they are pro serbian. Shame ! They support criminals! | |

| Mr. Solana, you should have the leading role on pressuring Spain to recognize Kosova instead. | |
