Danish FM to Serbia: Recognize Kosovo before EU

If Serbia aims EU membership, then it has to give up creating problems in the north of Kosovo, said Danish Foreign Minister, Per Stig Møller.

"This is the opportunity for Serbia. If it has an interest to keep the problems in the north [of Kosovo], those problems have to remain outside of EU, or Serbia will miss its chance to enter EU," stressed Danish Foreign Minister.

The ticket for Serbia to enter EU will cost when Serbia accepts the new reality and recognize the state of Kosovo. Without resolving this issue, Denmark indicates that there is no European perspective for Serbia.

"This is also a message for Kosovo to solve the issues in the north because it is in its interest to have the state and order of law extended in the entire territory, showing keen dedication to the integration of the Serbian minority," Møller emphasized praising the attitude of the Kosovo institutions and leaders in avoiding conflict.

The Danish minister ruled out any chance for the partition of Kosovo, while Kosovo President Fatmir Sejdiu said the reduction and departure of UNMIK within months cannot be blocked further.

Prime Minister Hashim Thaçi said the Serbian assembly founded on 28 of June in the north of Mitrovica will have neither effect nor success, pointing out that the territorial integrity of Kosovo is internationally recognized and guaranteed.

Foreign Minister of Denmark said his country will accord Kosovo 15 million Euros in the donor conference on July 11 and will send 53 police and judicial experts within the framework of the EU mission, EULEX.

First of all, stop editing insulting messages guys. Second, Kosova/Dardania is out of Serbia's rule since 1999. Third, Serbia is a defeated country and has to be treated so, likewise Germany or Japan still are nowadays on the international scene. Fourth, northern countries have been shocked by Serbian leadership behaviour during the Yougoslavian "wars" and still are keen at helping Serbia walk the straight line. Fifth, the largest Serbian party is nothing more than a bunch of crooks and ultras, nothing good for Europe.

to DONT THINK SO :
You Serbs talk about resolution 1244, international law, sovereignty and they keep going on. Since when have you people ever, ever respected international law, since when have you ever respected any other opinion then your own, since when have you ever cooperated in catching the war criminals who have committed crimes against humanity, against human values…..the list can go on.
I bet not even a small percentage know the real meaning of a resolution…. Stop using silly arguments:
The UN Charter, chapter VII, sanctions use of force of a country against its own citizens-(which Serbia did)

which Helsinki act stopped Bangladesh from getting it's independence?

How in hell you explain that all your Slav cousins could not live with you and more and more of them are recognizing the new reality, the Independent Republic of Kosova. And you know why? Because they are locking in there European perspective and they distance themselves from north-Carpathian barbarian logic! Septembers will come and go and you people with this mentality will just destroy the dream of Serbian people for better living.

Pure hypocrisy!
First off EU membership is not subject to Kosovo recognition!
Second, supporting kosovo independence is against international aw, a clear breach of 1244 and the Helsinki final act.
Thirdly, how can kosovo be independent? It is NOT. Officially it is still a province of Serbia. And over a 160 countries have refused to recognize its false declaration.

Anyway, you will see a big change in September when Serbia takes legal action against the countries who have recognized kosovo.
It is clearly within their best interests of these countries to reverse their decision.
The Danish minister had better educate himself on the legalities and stop blowing hot wind!
