... According to my opinion, this is one of the most important meetings that Kosovo leaders have been able to hold during the post-independence period. This meeting, again, proves the United States government is determined to help Kosovars build a strong society. We all know that Americans and Albanians have in common the shared values of each nation. This is a historic meeting, since it tells the world that Kosovo is now an independent state, no matter which contries oppose it. Congratulations to the people of Kosovo fur such great achievements! |

... http://www.slobodnaevropa.org/...83382.html Historic meeting: Bush – Sejdiu, Thaçi Anamari Repić, Radio Slobodna Evropa, 13 July 2008 The officials in Prishtina expect a great success for Kosovo from the future meeting in Washington between US President Georges Bush and Kosovo's President Fatmir Sejdiu and Prime Minister Hashim Thaçi. It has been announced that Bush will give his support to the Kosovan government's efforts to build a multi-ethnic and democratic nation. The meeting... has a historic meaning for Kosovo, since it strengthens the international legitimacy of Kosovo as a state. That was the assessment of the institutions' representatives when the american-kosovan meeting... was announced. ... Xhavit Beqiri, the spokesman for the Kosovan President, stresses that such a visit is the most important political event for Kosovo after the declaration of independence on 17 February. “The invitation from the American President is clear evidence that the USA is determined to help Kosovo on its way to the strenghtening of democracy and the establishment of a solid government, which will bring peace and stability to the region", declared Beqiri. As announced, the American President will discuss democratic reform in Kosovo with Sejdiu and Thaçi... Kosovo Vice-Prime Minister Ramë Manaj has declared that this will be a historic meeting, the first on that level after independence, through which Bush affirms the international legitimacy of Kosovo's institutions. “This is a historic moment for Kosovo, since it is the first such meeting of two leaders of the new nation in the land of world democracy” said Mr Manaj, adding that the meeting will represent an encouragement for the development of Kosovo as a state and contribute to the progress of international relations. Many believe that the next meeting in Washington could represent a signal for those countries which have not yet recognized Kosovo. It will be a genuine occasion for lobbying, thinks Mr Manaj. “the USA are a great friend of Kosovo, and the people of Kosovo is pro-american, and that is why such a visit is important for the future development of the situation”, thinks Mr Manaj. Mr Beqiri also stressed that the meeting with President Bush with Dr Sejdiu and Mr Thaçi will send the message that the independence of Kosovo is a "done deal, and that acceptance of that reality is the only path towards growth and integration for the region". President Sejdiu and Prime Minister Thaçi, as well as Foreign Minister Skender Hyseni, will meet with Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice on 18 July, before the meeting with President Bush. |

... I believe that this meeting will be very productive, especially in terms of getting new recognitions of independence. |

... Kosovo is bad policy. Something the Whitehouse seems to love. We just donated $400 million and pledged a billion of our tax dollars to this criminal-run territory. George has no problem giving our tax dollars away, just as long as it isn't returned to back to us. Thaci owns one of the largest hotels in Pristina. Ten years ago he was a bum. Who bought that for him ? I bet it was our tax dollars and other illegal war profits. He should be held in Guantanimo until further investigation. |

... This is a very good piece of news. But once again, we're praising this decision and not moderating our words, not really serious :-) |
