Montenegrin Supreme Court Prosecution has filed war crimes charges against eight Montenegrin citizens, soldiers of the formeor Yugoslav army, suspected of executing 23 Kosovar Albanians across the border from Kosovo in Montenegro during the early spring of 1999.

 

The criminal indictments are filed against Predrag Strugar, Momilo Barjaktarovic, Petar Labudovic, Aca Knezevic, Branislav Radnic, Boro Novakovic, Miro Bojovic and Radomir Djuraskovic, informs the prosecution body of the Montenegro Supreme Court.
 
These individuals are accused that, on April 19 of 1999, in the vicinity of Rozhaja, have acted on violation of the international laws, by committing war crimes against 23 Kosovar Albanians whom were not directly involved on any state enemy acts.

Predrag Strugal is accused that, during the period of April 18 thru May 21 of 1999, in the territory of the Municipality of Rozhaja, which was under his command, has ordered the execution of civilians of Albanian ethnicity who fled to Montenegro as refugees during the Kosovo war.  

The orders have been issued for the accused to be detained and held without bail.
