The officials at the Statistical Department of Kosovo published yesterday two statics bulletins; statics of deaths and birth from the year 2007 and statistics of marriapges in 2007 in Kosovo.

 

According to the published records, the birth rate in 2007 was 15.6 promille, while the level of deaths was 3.1 promille. Whereas, regarding the 2nd bulletin, during the year 2007, there were registered 17 thousand marriages.

Based on the research by the Department of Statistics, in 2007 were reported 6,600 deaths, where 3,800 or 58% were male and 2,800 or 42% were female. Kadri Sojeva, the head of the Population Statistics Department said that "the records include only 75% of all deaths because not all deaths are reported by the citizens."

Out of the total number of deaths, around 38% have happened at the health institutions. Seventy percent of all 6,600 deaths were of persons over 60 years old. However, the report does not list the causes of deaths.
