Kosovo minister says education is priority PDF Print E-mail
Thursday, 21 August 2008
Image"For Kosovo government education will be defined as national priority of first order which should be decisive for Kosovo. Such a priority aims to turn Kosovo into a country which bases its strength on knowledge," stated yesterday Kosovo Education minister Enver Hoxhaj, during his lecture "Education in Kosovo" held in front of the International Seminar on  Albanian Language, Culture and Letters.

"A reformed education system will be the most important basis of the state of Kosovo," said Hoxhaj. According to him the Government of Kosovo has five main priorities in the education field which will make Kosovo a country with its strength based on knowledge.

"For the Government of Kosovo education is defined as a state priority of first order and which should be decisive for Kosovo. The second priority is that we see education as an economic priority and not as a social policy as it was in the past. The third priority, a major goal for us as government, is the all inclusive primary and secondary education," said Hoxhaj.

Hoxhaj concluded that in order to raise the quality of teachers his government will increase pays based on qualifications and work experience.
