Kosovo telco buys wiretapping equipment for police PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 02 September 2008

ImagePost and Telecom of Kosovo (PTK) has helped buy wiretapping equipment for legal needs of the Kosovo Police Service (KPS). Based on an announcement by PTK, provisioning of wiretapping equipment is a legal obligation that comes with the license for mobile communication GSM issued by the regulatory agency.

PTK said the technical specifications for the equipment for legal wiretapping were decided by the UNMIK Police and the Kosovo Police Service.

Police Colonel Rifat Marmulluku said the equipment will enable the functionalization of legal wiretapping and help in the prevention of organized crime in the country.

"This is a major project for the Kosovo Police, and the Kosovar society in general, with the aim of offering a safe legal environment for all our citizens," said Marmulluku.

The project will take a month to complete.
