Government of the Republic of Kosovo is committed to continue supporting the displaced families and individuals who are willing to return to their homes in Kosovo, supporting a new EUR 700,000 project, says Minister of Communities and Returns Boban Stankovič.

The main partner assisting and overseeing the implementation of this project is the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). Minister Stankovič said the funds allotted by the Government of the Republic of Kosovo will help the process of displaced families and individuals go in the right direction.

"I believe there are no undesirable factors that will hinder the realization of our long term plans, which are the wellbeing of all returnees and their integration into the Kosovar society," said Minister Stankovič.

Permanent representative of UNDP, Frode Mauring said the return process of displaced persons is going in the right direction. We have hundreds who are interested to return to Kosovo and willing to integrate into the Kosovar society, said Mauring.

"Every family that wants to return to Kosovo will receive financial assistance for the reconstruction of their homes and social welfare assistance, which certainly will alleviate the process of their integration into the Kosovar society," said Mauring.

One key complain though by those returning has been the lack of jobs in a Kosovo already facing high unemployment levels.

Minister Stankovič promised to have more similar projects in the future.
