![]() Decani Monastery (file photo) The report says that the Kosovar constitution which entered into force on 15 June of this year, assures religious freedoms, and other laws and policies contributed, in general, to a free observance of religion. The government respects religious freedoms, and there was no significant change during the period covered by this report.
Commenting on the events in Serb-populated northern Kosovo especially
after Kosovo's declaration of independence on 17 February, the report
says that social discrimination and violence seem to in general have
been motivated by ethnic reasons, and that close association between
religion and ethnicity makes it hard to discern if the developments
were motivated by ethnic or religious animosity.
Kosovo Albanians are majority Muslim Sunni and Sufi and a small but
active Catholic minority. Serbs are Christian Orthodox. Other
minorities such as Bosniaks, Roma, and Turks are Muslim as well. Kosovo
also has a small but growing Christian Protestant population.

... Serbians minority HAVE the best rights in the Europe, however their churches are still attacked? btw, i was unaware that they HAVE the best rights. Very interesting. I always figured that the Sweeds, or Danes, or English or French, or anybody else from a wealthy country would have better rights. I mught be wrong ofcourse. I should move to kosovo and claim to be serbian so that I can have glorious rights too. |
