Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaçi met on Monday Lithuanian Defense Minister Jouzas Olekas along with a group of Lithuanian parliamentarians.

The Lithuanian visitors pledged their further support for the state of Kosovo.

"Lithuania is one of the first countries to have recognized Kosovo and now the conditions are ready for excellent cooperation between our two countries," said Thaçi, adding that Kosovo and Lithuania are part of the international community and their joint goal is the implementation of democratic values.

Both sides agreed that there are opportunities for cooperation in the fields of integration, education and the economy.
Minister Olekas said that his country, Lithuania, will strongly support the Republic of Kosovo on its path towards European Union and other international organizations, and it is ready to share its experiences for the creation of a strong basis for an independent and democratic state.

"We are ready to share our experience in the creation of the Kosovo Security Force and to explore opportunities for investment in Kosovo," said Olekas.
