Leaders of the Kosovo state insitutions declared on Tuesday that the declarations of Serb President Boris Tadic on the partition of Kosovo are unacceptable.

President of the Republic of Kosovo Fatmir Sejdiu said that Kosovo in an independent and internationally recognized state. "Our clear stance is known. We are a state and everything else is a useless attempt," said Sejdiu.

Jakup Krasniqi, President of Parliament, said that this is not Serbia's first attempt to partition Kosovo.

"Nevertheless, Kosova has its own borders which are increasingly being recognized by the international community. I think that Europe and the Balkans don't need a rewriting of Kosovo's borders," said Krasniqi alluding to the Pandora's Box, which could open in the Balkans if the borders are revised.

So far, the international community has not taken a stance on this latest claim by Serbia. Analysts say that declarations like this latest one and the ICJ case at the UN are done for internal political consumption in Belgrade.

However, Kosovo leaders like Albin Kurti have warned that the insistence of Serbia for decentralization along ethnic lines and contagious territory in northern and eastern Kosovo are the first step to partition.
