Parliament of Macedonia will today in an extraordinary procedure consider the resolution for recognition of Kosovo. The decision was taken yesterday at the meeting of parliamentary party coordinators with the Parliament President Trajko Veljanovski.

Yesterday night Macedonian President Nikola Gruevski held a meeting with the ministers of his party, VMRO-DPMNE.
In the evening today Macedonian Government is expected to deliver to the parliament the project-proposal for the recognition of Kosovo. The news was announced by the Macedonian news agency INA based on high government sources.

Macedonian constitution authorizes the government to decide on recognition matters, however the government also wanted a debate at the parliament, where the proposal is expected to get widespread support. The Montenegrin government last week took similar steps.

Sources say that Skopje has been in contact with Montenegro regarding the coordination of moves; however, it is not yet clear whether the two countries will act together.
