EULEX mission is a basic instrument of the European Union for the stability of Kosovo and we expect everyone to cooperate with this mission, stated the spokesperson of the High Commissioner for Foreign Policy and Security of the EU Javier Solana.
Christina Gallach, spokesperson of Solana sent a message through the Serbia media to Belgrade that EU will not give up on the EULEX mission despite Serbia's opposition to it.
According to Belgrade's "Politika", European Union will not put the
recognition of independence of Kosovo as a condition for the membership
of Serbia into the EU. "Nevertheless, this does not mean that the EU
will not request from Belgrade to recognize some elements of Kosovo's
independence," a source from Brussels stated for the paper.
"Initially the issue of cooperation with EULEX will be laid out, since
this mission is supported by all EU states - and Serbia cannot not
relent," said this source.
