The action plan was created in June by the regional command in
Mitrovica and then rewritten with the help of central command in
Prishtina and put in place on 1 October.
During the last weekend, Kosovo police started seven
investigations on accusations of contraband - gasoline, alcohol and
other goods - caught in police checkpoints of the regional roads in
northern Mitrovica.
KPS says the trend of contraband in the north has recorded
a fall compared to previous months however undercover recordings shown
on Kosovo's RTV 21 show tankers and gas stations operating openly with prices
from EUR 0.70-.80 per liter, well below regular prices.
