Regional Kosovo Police Service command in Mitrovica has been forced to take more aggressive steps to stop the phenomenon of contraband.

The action plan was created in June by the regional command in Mitrovica and then rewritten with the help of central command in Prishtina and put in place on 1 October.

During the last weekend, Kosovo police started seven investigations on accusations of contraband - gasoline, alcohol and other goods - caught in police checkpoints of the regional roads in northern Mitrovica.
