"While last week we had various unclear statements being interpreted as
even legitimization of the six-point plan, today's proposal is very
clear and does not allow room for ambiguity. Foreign Policy Club
praises this progress on the position of the Government, which also
comes from the recommendations developed during the debate organized by
the Foreign Policy Club, “says the statement.
Foreign Policy Club considers that this principled position expressed through the four points need to be elaborated further to take the form of Prishtina’s official position plan regarding the deployment of EULEX in Kosovo. This process, which needs to be realized in close cooperation with relevant international factors - the European Union in the first place - needs more detailed work from the institutions of Kosovo, including the parliamentary parties. At this crucial position, Foreign Policy Club considers that the creation of the political circumstance and the seriousness of the problem require teamwork coordination, including the government and the opposition. Surroi during the debate said that the most productive way is for Kosovo to come with its plan in accordance with the Constitution of the Republic of Kosovo. The discussion should be developed between Brussels and Prishtina in both foreign policy and security and integration, because the development of the statehood of Kosovo and the entire perspective of the region depends on these crucial issues. In the meantime Prishtina needs to respond to the UN General Secretary explaining that since Kosovo is not yet e member of the UN, it is impossible for Prishtina to participate, as equal in one form or another on the reconfiguration of UN, therefore, based on the recommendations of the UN General Secretary, in his approval letter of the Ahtisaari Plan, the Government of Kosovo will begin a different format of negotiations for the presence of the international community in the Republic Kosovo based on the already signed agreement between Kosovo and the European Union on EULEX mission in February 2008. Additionally, Surroi said that “Belgrade should not be consulted over this issue because it has no sovregnity over Kosovo. One day Kosovo and Serbia as two sovereign countries will sit down to discuss various integration issues. Whether Serbia will continue with its destructive policies towards its neighbor Kosovo or accepts the reality and works on integrating into EU - time will come when Serbia will face these two choices.”

... As I always say - REALITY is not constant but everchanging category. So, what is reality now - will not be in the future. For example: Todays reality is that Vatican doesn't have any plans to recognize Kosmet as an independent state. Who knows what future will bring. |
