Prime Minister Hashim Thaçi told the deputies of the Republic of Kosovo Parliament on Tuesday that the six-point plan will not be accepted by the Kosovo authorities and as such is inexecutable in independent Kosovo.
"Status of Kosovo has been resolved since 17 February 2008 when Kosovo
became independent and sovereign," said PM Thaçi, adding that Kosovo
insitutions have supported EULEX as is foreseen by the Kosovo
Constitution and the Ahtisaari Plan.
PM Thaçi deems UN Resolution 1244 as irrelevant and illogical for all fields discussed in the six-point plan. "Kosova has presented four points which represent our official position in rapport with the six-point plan. Kosovo has its constitution and its courts, therefore the Kosovo institutions will abide and practice them," said Prime Minister Thaçi, guaranteeing that the government will not accept any plan incompatible with the Kosovo laws. "Six point plan has been, is and will remain unimplementable for us," concluded PM Thaçi. In Washington, the State Department spokesperson, Sean McCormack, said yesterday that the US is cooperating on the implementation of EULEX. Asked about the concerns raised in Kosovo, McCormack said, "Nobody is turning back the clock. Kosovo is sovereign." Jeremic satisfied with Ban report
Serb Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic has said that Serbia is satisfied
with the report of UN General-Secretary Ban Ki-moon which will be
presented on Wednesday. According to Jeremic, the report "includes in
full all the requests of Serbia - the six points; it defines clearly
EULEX as neutral towards status and in accordance with Resolution
1244."
