Kosovo Police and Kosovo Ministry of Internal Affairs officials said that efforts are being made in order to convince the Serb Police Officers to get back to their jobs after a several-month boycott. Otherwise, if they do not return to work, then the vacancy for new police officers will be announced soon.
“Kosovo Police cannot exactly tell when this will happen; however, we
know that this will happen soon,” the Kosovo Police spokesperson Veton
Elshani told Radio Free Europe.
Meanwhile, the officials from the Kosovo Ministry of Internal Affairs said that the EULEX representatives are also trying to convince the Serb Police Officers to return to work. “We will give them some more time until after the holidays. In case they decide to return it will be a good thing for everybody; however, if they do not return, then the vacancies will be announced,” the advisor in the Kosovo Ministry of Internal Affairs, Fisnik Rexhepi said.

Kosovo government continues to pay boycotting Kosovo Police officers in the hope
that they will return to their jobs which they left after Kosovo
announced independence from Serbia. Serb government has promised the
boycotting members of Kosovo Police higher wages if they leave.
Rexhepi said that this issue will be solved within the first three months of next year.

... I agree with Besart, they should have all been fired. Since they have other Serbs willing to do the job, then why not hire those Serbs and call it even. Then Belgrade can keep paying the old ones for staying at home, more money for the Kosovo economy anyways. |

... No I' think is OK. Serbia got a lot of money. It would be nice if you could "declare" boycott. Having two wages is nice. I would like to ask Serbia that before paying double wages, to give back the stolen found of Kosovars Pensioners. |

... There should be a way to prevent the Serbian government from paying the wages of the boycotters. |
