The leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK) Ramush Haradinaj proposed the opening of two police sub-stations in northern Mitrovica and one police sub-station in Leposavic in order to preserve security in northern Kosovo.

Haradinaj’s plan foresees the opening of a police sub-station in the Lagja e Boshnjakeve Neighborhood and another one in the Suhadoll Neighborhood, where ethnically mixed populations live. According to Haradinaj, the opening of these police stations would not worsen the interethnic relations because all three of these areas are connected with parts of the town inhabited by Albanians.

Haradinaj asked the Republic of Kosovo Government and the security institutions to take measures in order to defend the citizens and their properties. According to Haradinaj, the Kosovo Government’s calls for calmness are not enough. The Kosovo Government should take measures in order to make the citizens of this part feel safe.
