During an interview for the BBC, the Kosovo deputy Prime Minister Hajredin Kuçi announced that the Government of Kosovo has asked the international authorities to increase their pressure against Serbia in order to stop the provocation with violent acts in northern Kosovo.

“The government is taking three measures separately. Firstly, in full coordination with KFOR and EULEX, the security institutions in Kosovo have increased their state of readiness. The second measure is the establishment of contact and coordination with the citizens so that they continue to live in this part of Kosovo, not be afraid, and increase their trust for the local and international institutions in Kosovo. Our third measure is our cooperation with the international community, asking them to put pressure upon the Government in Belgrade and prevent it from committing destructive and violent acts in the territory of the Republic of Kosovo,” Kuçi said.

The Kosovo deputy Prime Minister Hajredin Kuçi said that the Government of Kosovo has provided 100 thousand Euros for the compensation of the damage caused to the Albanian properties in northern Mitrovica which were burned by a group of Serbs last weekend.  According to him, the aim of the government is to normalize the life for the residents of this part of the town.
