Through a long and cordial phone conversation that Republic of Kosovo Foreign Minister Skënder Hyseni had last night with the Republic of Panama Foreign Minister Samuel Lewis Navarro was announced that Panama has recognized the independent and sovereign state of Kosovo.
Navarro, who is also the deputy president of Panama, informed
Hyseni that the verbal note of recognition will be delivered today to
the Charge D'affaires of the Republic of Kosovo in Washington, Avni
Spahiu.
During the conversation, foreign ministers of the two countries said they would work further for the development and strengthening of bilateral relations. Panama will also work to convince its neighbors to recognize Kosovo.
Panama is the 54th state to recognize Kosovo independence, declared on 17 February 2008.
