Vice-President Jacques Barrot said on Tuesday.
He made the statement at a two-day conference "Building Migration Partnerships", taking place in Prague.
"Kosovo, like the countries, needs to meet the conditions set for all the Balkan countries," Barrot told a news conference.
Barrot underlined that Kosovo will receive the same treatment as other countries in the region when it comes to visa liberalization.
"The answer is yes, provided that Kosovo accepts the commitment to implement certain principles that are necessary if we want to simplify the visa regime," Barrot said.
The newborn nation is also due to receive a response on the fisibility results by European Commision, which is a preparation process for the SAA Agreement between the Republic of Kosovo and the European Union as an important step for the country's European integration.
