World Bank offers membership to the Republic of Kosovo

On June 15, 2009, the Executive Directors of the World Bank certified the votes by the Boards of Governors of the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD), the International Development Association (IDA), the International Finance Corporation (IFC), and the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA) to offer World Bank Group membership to the Republic of Kosovo. 
 
The Republic of Kosovo will become a member of the World Bank when its authorized representative signs the Articles of Agreement in Washington D.C.  This signing of World Bank and International Monetary Fund membership agreement  is expected to take place on June 29, 2009.
