President of the Republic of Kosovo Fatmir Sejdiu today met with the first Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Kosovo, Akio Tanaka, emphasizing the strong diplomatic ties between two nations.
“Citizens and the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo will always
remain grateful to Japan for its important support given to Kosovo both
during the war and also in the period of reconstruction and
strengthening of our country’s democratic institutions”, President
Sejdiu told the first Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of
Kosovo his Excellency Akio Tanaka who today presented his credential
letters to the Kosovar President.
President Sejdiu also reemphasized the full commitment of the Republic of Kosovo for good neighborly relations with all the countries of the region.
Ambassador Tanaka said that he feels much honored for the fact that he is going to act as the first Japanese ambassador to the Republic.

The new Japanese Ambassador in Vienna, Akio Tanaka, who will cover as well the diplomatic mission in Kosovo, following the meeting with the President of Kosovo, Fatmir Sejdiu, said that Japan will continue to support Kosovo in all areas.
