The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan has recognized the Republic of Kosovo. The information was first released by the Justice Party of Kosovo and later was confirmed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

"The decision for recognition of Kosovo's independence by the Government of Jordan, was made today on July 7," informs the Foreign Ministry.

Albana Beqiri, the Political Advisor to the Minister of the Foreign Affairs of Kosovo, confirmed this information for the Kosovo media. Jordan is the 61 UN member state to recognize the independence of the Republic of Kosovo.

Jordan,  an Arab country in Southwest Asia spanning the southern part of the Syrian Desert down to the Gulf of Aqaba, has a population of 6 million and territory of 89,341 km2.
