At the award ceremony held last night in Prizren winners of 8th edition of the festival were announced.

Sisters of Lilith, a documentary by Turkish director Emel Celebi was awarded with the Best Balkan Documentary award while Goran Devic’s Three got the special mention by the jury.

Rene by acclaimed Czech director Helena Trestikova was awarded Best Feature Documentary and The Solitary Life of Cranes by Eva Weber Best Short Documentary in the International Docs category of the festival. The same jury also gave two special mentions to the films The One Man Village by Lebanese filmmaker Simon El Habre and Defamation by Israeli filmmaker Yoav Shamir.

The award for best short fiction film at DokuFest went to Karchi Perlmann from Hungary for his film The Dinner while The Grass Snake, a short film by directors Khayam Abdoullayev and Elmaddin Aliyev from Azerbaijan walked away with special mention.

Antena, a short fiction by Albanian director Gentian Koci was named Best National film. The same jury also awarded Kosovan director Valjet Rexhepi for his film 1 Day,2 Pizza and 1 Superman with special mention.

A Sea Change, a documentary by Barbara Ettinger took the Green Docs Award whereas The Glass House directed by Hamid Rahmanian grabbed the Human Rights Award.

DokuKids award went to the animated film Orgestculanismus from Belgium, directed by Matheu Labayenga and Sorra Prize to Tik Tak, the directing debut of Adea Grezda and Vijona Bejtullahu from Kosova.

The audience award went to the Dutch filmmaker Coco Shrijber for her film Bloody Mondays and Strawberry Pies.

The festival closed with the screening of animated documentary Waltz With Bashir directed by Ari Folman.
