The Republic of Kosovo Parliament Speaker Jakup Krasniqi, accompanied by the Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs, Sabri Hamiti, and Ibrahim Gashi, a member of the Committee, on Wednesday held a meeting with a parliamentary delegation from the UK Parliament Committee of Foreign Relations .

The delegation who was accompanied by UK Ambassador in Prishtina, Andy Sparkes, were: Sir John Stanley from the Conservative Party and Fabian Hamilton and Ken Purchase from the Labour Party.

In this case, Speaker Krasniqi said that since the Assembly of Kosovo is the youngest parliament in the world, he makes an effort to benefit from Western experience in the legislative field.

On his part, Sir John Stanley noted that Kosovo occupies space in the broad interests of the UK Government and Parliament.

"The UK has shown and shows more extensive interest in the Kosovo situation," said Sir John Stanley in the meeting where they discussed the possibility of membership of the Assembly of Kosovo in the International Parliamentary Union, as well as the formation of friendship groups between two countries'parliaments.
