
Kosovar President Fatmir Sejdiu met in London with British Undersecretary of State, Chris Bryant, whom he thanked for continued support of Great Britain given to Kosovo.
In this meeting, was widely discussed cooperation between the two countries, informs the Press Office of the President.
At the meeting, President Sejdiu stressed that the Republic of Kosovo has successfully overcome many challenges, which has faced in recent years, although much remains to be done. He praised the achievements in the field of security and good performance of the monitoring mission of EULEX, stressing that for the Republic of Kosovo state institutions priority remains the rule of law and order throughout country.
Meanwhile, Bryant, as quoted in the communique, has reiterating that Britain has been and remains very committed to helping the Republic of Kosovo in all areas. He has assured President Sejdiu said his country will offer all necessary assistance to strengthen democratic institutions, good governance, with particular emphasis on combating negative phenomena that have affected countries in the region as well.
President Sejdiu was invited by Oxford Union to give a lecture about the developments in the Republic of Kosovo.
The Oxford Union, founded in 1823 with the aim of providing a forum for discussion and debate, is among the most prestigious debate societies in the world and is where many of the most prominent world figures, past and present, have lectured. Many ambassadors and other government officials are expected to participate.
