'Serbia FM - arrogant, unprofessional and undiplomatic'

Vuk Jeremic, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia, in his appearance before the European Parliament has made a series of diplomatic scandals. Responding on a question about Ratko Mladic, he drew a completely undiplomatic move, citing Turkey in a negative context, report the Western European media.

He said "there are forces in the EU that are committed to halt EU enlargement after the entry of Croatia, while there is a problem with Turkey's EU integration," expressing a negative attitude about Turkey's accession to EU.

"This will be a very bad message to the region because we were 500 years under Turkey and now we need to be together again in the hallway with them. This is not a good message for those who have been so long under them," said Jeremic, only a week after the visit of Turkish President Abdullah Gul to Belgrade.

Jelko Kacin, European rapporteur for Serbia in EU, called the presentation and statements of Jeremic as unprofessional, because the process of ratification of the EU's SAA with Serbia has not yet begun and it is blocked because of incomplete cooperation with the International Tribunal for war crimes. The Balkans media recently have shown videos of Serb war crimes fugitive Ratko Mladic, responsible for the murder of 100,000 in Bosnia, partying openly in the wedding halls of Belgrade.

"This about Turkey was quite incorrect and undiplomatic. Serbia opposes Turkey's EU bid while invites investors to Serbia. It was extreme and unacceptable arrogance when he spoke for the Albanians, and related them with Milosevic, as well as talking about the Bosnia and Herzegovina", said Kacin for Fonet agency.

EU Parliamentarians have also accused Serbia for lobbying against Albania and Bosnia and Herzegovina to join visa liberalization by the year end.
