The EU Member States agreed on Wednesday to accept Albania's request to gain EU-candidate status.

Diplomatic sources in Brussels made the news public emphasizing, "EU Ambassadors from 27 countries have decided to request from the European Commission, the preparation of an evaluation of Albania's readiness to begin accession talks."

This decision is expected to be approved by EU foreign ministers in meetings on Monday and Tuesday in Brussels. Albania applied for the EU-Candidate status in April.

If Albania is allowed to begin talks on membership in the European Union, Albania will be required to move forward on political and economic reforms according to European standards, a process that may take several years.

It was about time. We all know that they will drag their inevitable decision for many decades to come, bossing us and minding the smallest details of our existence. I propose a new way of negotiations “the Palestinian style”. Screw EU! Lets scrap the current constitution and copy the US one. In this we will gain a nearly perfect one. These EU leaders are the same cowards that gave Serbia free reign over the butchery in Bosnia. Now they talk prosperity.
