Kosovo and Bulgaria sign energy agreement

Kosovar and Bulgarian Ministers
Ministry of Energy and Mining of the Republic of Kosovo and the Ministry of Economy, Energy and Tourism of the Republic of Bulgaria signed in Sofia an agreement for cooperation and intensification of bilateral relations in the energy sector.

The agreement was signed by Kosovo's Minister of Energy and Mining, Ms. Justina Shiroka-Pula and her Bulgarian counterpart, Mr. Traycho Traykov.

Minister Pula has said that the signing of this agreement is particularly important in the framework of regional cooperation in the energy sector and for the fact that Bulgaria is a member of the European Union.

"The integration of Kosovo into the EU is our major priority. For this, we need to increased regional and international cooperation. This agreement is in accordance with the Energy Community Treaty," said Minister Pula.

Agreement signed between the two ministries foresees that two parties will define the priority areas of cooperation in the energy sector, coal, natural gas, renewable energy sources, energy efficiency, safe supply of electricity, as well as assistance in preparing and implementing the infrastructure initiatives or other projects.
