The United Kingdom has welcomed the decision of the International Court of Justice on Kosovo and called on countries that have not recognized Kosovo to do so, reports Radio Free Europe.
"Kosovo functions as an independent state for over two and half years. We encourage all countries to recognize Kosovo's independence. Kosovo is a unique case and does not represent a precedent, "said British Foreign Minister, William Hague.
"UK strongly believes that Kosovo's resolved status as a territory with defined borders, represents a positive force for stabilizing the Western Balkans," says the statement of the chief of British diplomacy.
"We call on Kosovo and Serbia to use the opportunity to agree and become good neighbors," said William Hague, to add that "Kosovo and Serbia should concentrate on the next stages in the progress towards EU membership.
"Legal procedure before ICJ has ended. This means the end of the debate on Kosovo's status," said in a statement, British Foreign Minister, William Hague.
