Czech Republic Won't Send Ambassador To Kosovo

  • PDF
Czech President Vaclav Klaus

Czech President, Vaclav Klaus, said on Thursday in Belgrade that as long as he is president, the Czech Republic will not have an ambassador in Kosovo, although the embassy in Prishtina is open.

Klaus made these comments to Novinki.cz, adding that Serbia is not happy about the fact that the Czech embassy in Prishtina is open, but he reminded that in that embassy, there is even no ambassador.

"Ambassadors are appointed by the President of the Republic. I very well know that Foreign Minister (Karel) Schwarzenberg would happily appoint an ambassador to Kosovo, but he also knows that I would never approve it. Therefore, we do not have an ambassador there, and as long as I am president this will not change", said Klaus.

You always seem to be on the wrong side of everything. Hope you leave soon, Mr. Klaus.
