Kosovo adopted the Euro as its official currency on 1 January 2002. With the use of this stable currency as an official means of payment, the prerequisite for the development of an efficient financial sector and stable macroeconomic environment was in place.

Kosovo Prime Minister Hashim Thaçi and Minister of Transport Fatmir Limaj have broken ground today on the extension of the highway from Fushe Kosova outside Prishtina to the Prishtina Airport, currently the country's only commercial service airport.

Construction, textile and wood processing industry in the recent years have been successfully merging into the Kosovo's economy, while thorough studies indicate of their potential to expand,grow and compete in the Europe, bringing qualitative and demanding pruducts to the EU market.
